Poem: Parched

Sometimes we must drink

when opportunity appears

For it may evaporate

and leave the present parched

and wanting

So remember to sip

what is in front of you

imperfect as it may be

Because tomorrow

it might be dried up

and gone

Poem/Song: Tango River

bridge 1

We danced a tango river

where winding waters flowed

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

Back when summer moons were fuller

as we floated through the night

Rocking closely to the rhythm

gazing star eyed at the light

We danced a tango river

where winding waters flow

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

You rocked me in a cradle

of gently loving arms

And you held me like forever

So I never came to harm

We danced a tango river

where winding waters flow

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

So my sweet partner

it’s with you I want to dance

Let’s drift away together

and take the rivers chance

We danced a tango river

where winding waters flow

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

Note: I picture this as a song somehow, but unfortunately, I can’t write music. The first line came to me in the middle of the night as my writing often does… I wish I could put it to music somehow….

Poem: Peaceful World

It seems a peaceful world

with rabbit clouds gazing

and mockingbirds singing

crisp hymnals

It seems a peaceful world

as the lime green

endorfin drenched runner

appears happy to be done

And the leaves

blow harmony

to the gentle fingers of wind

It seems a peaceful world

as the golden melt

of the pouring sun

slips down on

waiting waters

glazing it with riches

Yes

It seems a peaceful world

as it wakes

again

ready to start

anew

Poem: Howl

Soft moon

you sit quietly

hanging upon my up turned face

trying to tell me

speaking many years

from your mighty vantage

winking or watching full eyed

then not bothering with me

at all

Who can blame you

with that tug

making me crazy

and lifting my howl

begging you to answer

Today you stand stoic

while I dance beneath

roundly piercing

you make my feet glow

Poem: Stillness

wpid-20140819_195025.jpg

In stillness

times when I sat

hushed under ancient pines

back brushed up against wizened skin

small

yet safe

cradled silently

beneath an immobile mammoth

wpid-0525141811a.jpg

In stillness

near a whispering brook

whose words spoke sense

when nothing else could

they drifted past

in bubbles of music

floating by

in ripples of spray

to be caught in moments

of calm

wpid-0816130628.jpg

And in stillness

sitting upon the hill

with warmth from above

creatures close by

and sharing the peace

near by voices are small

and my belly is round

while the world is spinning beyond

In stillness

In stillness

It lies

Disturbed?

A rather interesting sign within my community. Could be true for sure, although I’m pretty sure no-one would be too tempted to feed the alligators. Unless maybe you had some guests that were over staying their welcome??

This also is my walking/biking route and if I ever saw an alligator cross in my path, I would be pretty disturbed myself. I might just have to ignore the sign and consider carrying alligator food with me to toss at it. Now I have to figure out just what that might be…??

Poem: Weary

Some days I rest

my weary thoughts

upon the gentle sea

the blue green beauty

 beckons with her waves

and reaches out to me

I cast them far

into the depths

where they rock beneath the tide

it’s quiet below

and dark with fish

that watch my troubles sink

they grab them in their mouths

and take them off to hide

So now they are far below

beneath the heavy waves

my sorrow and my shattered pain

tossed in wind swept freedom

and caught by Mother’s womb

to die within her grave
