Poem: The Meeting

It appeared

the way the morning sun flashes

through gathering clouds–

suddenly

a burst of

unexpected radiance

The beauty of it

drenching

my soul

Its unforeseen appearance

bringing clarity

to the moment

But hopefully

lasting beyond

long after the day

folds into

night

Poem: The Helmet

sunflower 3

Maybe I should wear a helmet

on my heart

like you do

in the shower

guarding your nakedness

and you from falling

falling

while in bed

where the story is too long

and still, at times

hard

very

But other times

it’s just a field of sunflowers

passing by
