Poem: Lying Down

Once young

peeking to see

wispy seeds blow

close-up on

green tufts of hair

while frantic

insects buzz

in summers air

While watching

big blue windy white

marching puffy shapes

swim, float and fly

slowly by

Peering through finger blinds

sun shadow so cool

paints silhouettes

then splits its billow

making miniscule

circle spot dots

to dance blind before

shuttered thoughts

In pastures tiny forest

looking up

with loving eyes

Now old

graying curls tossed light

upon pillowed crib

Staring up

at cryptic crack

its hieroglyph speaking truth

of lost and boundless youth

Lying still

now here inside

blocked against wheat

and birds

the sky is covered

with plastered paint

spine pressed upon

the bed

But in the mind

the world is there

floating overhead

Poem: Upward

I transcend

breathing soft air

and ascend behind flashing eyelids

free now

from egos gravitational lure

Climbing over yesterdays clutter

a wraith rising

through the worldly walls

to wander upon higher plains

drifting in dark spirals of space

tiny bits of astral dust

away away

I shine and hover

as humming of the cosmos

levitates me till

the end of time

Poem: The Street Lamp

The street lamp

through the jail slit blinds

while I lay wide-eyed

trying to sleep

It lights my thoughts

the moment when you

got on your knees and begged me to stay

when I played the now dead song:

“I Will Always Love You”

(which wasn’t true)

Laying on the lamp-lit bed

even with lavender soaked eye-pads

I cannot escape

the path of memories

Poem: In And Out

It may slip behind

disappearing as if it did not exist

You leap in and out

moon bright upon my thoughts

one moment a burning bulb

hanging in destinies sky

The next dipping behind

a clouded doubt

of past stratus layers

But it remains full

and round

and brilliantly waiting

It is always there

whether visible

or not
