Poem Art: Eclipsed

art

Fire in the center

Eyes to the sky

Crimson licked takeover

of  bloodthirsty lunatics

as the moon ate the sun

And warriors danced on the graves

of those they obliterated

Yet

the earth became dark and quiet

while the people cheered

believing the sun

was really theirs

Poem/Song: Tango River

bridge 1

We danced a tango river

where winding waters flowed

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

Back when summer moons were fuller

as we floated through the night

Rocking closely to the rhythm

gazing star eyed at the light

We danced a tango river

where winding waters flow

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

You rocked me in a cradle

of gently loving arms

And you held me like forever

So I never came to harm

We danced a tango river

where winding waters flow

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

So my sweet partner

it’s with you I want to dance

Let’s drift away together

and take the rivers chance

We danced a tango river

where winding waters flow

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

And the moon glow ripples

made our heartbeats slow

Note: I picture this as a song somehow, but unfortunately, I can’t write music. The first line came to me in the middle of the night as my writing often does… I wish I could put it to music somehow….

Poem: White Orb

full moon 1The moon sits solo in the night sky

But really she is surrounded in the murky dark

By pinpoint planets and dazzling stars

All strung out in Universal beauty

Backdrops dotted into created patterns by mere humans

Or the circling nebula luminescent in its beauty

And the black holes sucking time in on itself

In a place where time may not even exist

Suns with planets spinning endlessly–

Holding mysteries we may never know

And the big white orb

Seemingly silent

Sometimes so close

Staring down on us with silver light

Pulling at our being and making water rise

Sometimes blinking out of sight

Only to creep slowly back

Like an unexpected laugh welling up from the recesses of one’s soul
