Endless Mind

Living free may only be an illusion as there is always something hidden waiting to confine the beauty of unfettered space. Maybe an unsuspecting visitor or fence covered with lush camouflage that pretends to be part of the landscape. It fools and traps the wandering dreamer.

Step by step the visionary may walk, hopeful of its future. And in the moment all seems at peace. The surrounding landscape is hushed and still. It lulls those that pass into a false sense of calm. But what may come at the next bend? Is all as it seems?

Best to tread lightly these earthly footsteps. Cautiously move and trust home is within. Freedom may only be skin deep. Found in the echoes of  the ancestors. Search for it not in tomorrows, but inside the endless mind.

Poem: Weary

Some days I rest

my weary thoughts

upon the gentle sea

the blue green beauty

 beckons with her waves

and reaches out to me

I cast them far

into the depths

where they rock beneath the tide

it’s quiet below

and dark with fish

that watch my troubles sink

they grab them in their mouths

and take them off to hide

So now they are far below

beneath the heavy waves

my sorrow and my shattered pain

tossed in wind swept freedom

and caught by Mother’s womb

to die within her grave

Poem: Magic Kingdom

Sometimes I live in a bubble

a magic kingdom of

castles and of Kings–

Above me float the dragons

with shimmering

lizard wings–

I walk among the forests

of twisted trees

so old–

Where endless paths

hold secrets

by Druids once were told–

One day while I am

walking

a stranger do I meet–

with withered skin

and tattered clothes

and long knarly feet–

“Good day,” I hail

as he strolls by

and curtsy very low–

But as I peek upon his pass

there are three goblins

following all in tow–

I take this as my exit

I’ve had enough of here–

Time to head back home

though even there

people are not as they

appear–
