Poem: Pneuma

Finding the silence within

when surrounded by

perpetual sound

Sitting still

quietly

empty of noisy thoughts

This is the struggle

of the

evolving soul

Poem: Out

Fire burns within

and can barely be contained

crackling heat howls in the belly

where it can no longer be sustained

The snapping tips of this inferno

have stayed inside too long

now it must taste freedom

or its host will be charred up gone

Poem: Which Light?

What started as hard

could be easy in the end

Life is a gamble

where not knowing is a friend

Looking back is simple

and seeing all the pain

but to only guess the future

and its crazy moving train

Hoping that it goes forward

towards fields of golden light

and the tracks that lay behind

are now distant out of sight

Yet still we step upon this ride

without a future sure

and surf the bumps and valleys

through tunnels insecure

Then to take this trip

and the curves that may befall

because the only other choice my friend

is to not be here at all…?

Poem: Long Ago

Long ago

two strangers met

and their fate was sealed

A child’s life

had been hurt

but a woman helped it heal

She took her hand

and brought her home

to help her learn to feel

Some days were hard

and both felt pain

life could feel surreal

But the woman

always was there for her

through every life ordeal

So even though

not by birth

as my Mother you are real

Dedicated to my dear Mom on her 91st birthday. You are my heart and soul. Thank you for the day you found me, brought me home and have helped me on my journey ever since!

Poem/Song: My World Will Be OK

As I step outside

into the warmth and light

out of the dark and hollow

past pain and inner fights

From places unfamiliar

where I was forced to stay

moving now towards the future

My world will be OK

I’ve cried so many tears

and felt a crush of heartache

the roads have been rough

easy ones I did not take

It felt like I was a loner

on dark and private days

Yet I always saw a glimmer

that my world would be OK

With my past I drift

and some blinders that darken me

to set sail for a future

where tomorrow is eternity

So my world will be OK

I will find my way

pass the past

through today

and maybe someday

it will be OK

Poem: Shooting Star

Star shoot beautiful night

Brilliant sky hearts flight

Across the world

Dreams are curled

In lovers beds

With separate dreads

But with the arc

Of light embark

Connect their souls

And fills deep holes

So no matter where

The dark may stare

Magic comes and opens doors

Makes things fly and soar

And when the end is near

I will want you here

To see the star

So far

So far

Poem: Dirty Wind

Born on a cloud

then

blown by the dirty wind

and caught in the corners

of an unnamed road

Picked up again and again

thrown into a hailstorm of frozen

pebbles

that bang together

but later

melt

turning fluid

then eventually

evaporate into nothing

and disappear within

the world
