Poem: The Helmet

sunflower 3

Maybe I should wear a helmet

on my heart

like you do

in the shower

guarding your nakedness

and you from falling

while in bed

where the story is too long

and still, at times

But other times

it’s just a field of sunflowers

passing by

  1. I wonder what it would feel like to live wide open with no thought of having to protect oneself. A scary thought for me. Hmmmm……

  2. In this world, it is scary. But I guess I still do to a certain extent. When we do it, we leave ourselves pretty exposed, but we hopefully find good things too. 🙂
