Poem : Ride

image

My steady steed stands strong
Ready to to take me into the ubiquitous uncertainty
Safe in saddle
Facing the sacrificial sun
Wavering warrior
Caught between heart and dragging duty
The beauty of the ride
Is what saves the searching soul

      1. Me too and Zorro! In fact, I went to the primer of Zorro before it was an actual show. πŸ™‚ I had horses for a little while and ponies. I liked the ponies more actually because I really didn’t know what I was doing with the horses! They were glorified lawn ornaments! πŸ™‚

      2. Hmmm, interesting. No–I don’t have a real memory, although Clarence the cross eyed Lion barely rang a bell. Believe it or not, I always had trouble with shows with too many animals because it upset me at a young age…esp. if they got hurt, lost, captured or whatever. Maybe deep down I understood there was something inherently wrong with the whole picture? I couldn’t watch Lassie, didn’t like the Bambi story… They all upset me. I suppose I was destined to be a vegan from a young age…. :/

      3. OHHH me too! In fact, I recently took out very old copies of Dr. Who from the library to watch when I was still unemployed. I guess there were many guys who played him, because I didn’t recognize this particular one, but it was still entertaining! I’m still a fan of the original Star Trek though…..

      4. I looked him up…Jon Pertwee?? He’s the one I think I liked too! Gosh there were a million of them. I don’t think any of the actors on Star Trek ever made it as big after that show…..

      5. he was a great doctor who, but it may be the one you grew up with that counts the most. Yeah, but they were good at being Star Trek people, it was a sad day for me when Spock died..

      6. Funny, but when I saw all the ones that played Dr. Who, I thought I didn’t see the one that I recalled…but maybe I was imagining him? We get very entrenched in their lives when we watch the shows….

      7. But we all know they each have their own touch. I didn’t like the new Star Trek because I didn’t care for the new actors as well…? I guess I’m a creature of habit. πŸ™‚
