Poem : Her Friend

image

Spattered memories of roadways
Head bent hands pocketed
Pushing on
Gravelly footsteps
Trying to find home

image

Bound by ties binding
Hangman’s noose
So close
At times
I could choke
By the Riverside I did weep
Salty tears
Filling an ocean

image

We all find our own sun
Lay ourselves down
And bathe
I’m still here
You are not
There may be peace
In darkness
