Poem: Faces

Hidden faces

…..strange plastering smiles

that draw you in to lifetimes

……of broken treaties

Those thin-lipped eye-piercing faces

—looking through you

And you wonder:

…..is it me? Or are they captured within

their self fulfilling prophecies of

—-grainy fearful disembodiment from others

Cavernous drawing enveloping faces

…..beckoning you in in in

to seek solace sympathy soul

To see faces in form

….personify petrify around us

We look and imagine

—-minds dicing apart trying to make sense

a picture worth no words

—we create in our own head

Thinking what we want to believe

Finding familiar faces

—-making them what we need them

To be
