  1. Thank you so much for nominating me for a writing award..
It means more than you will ever know.
Many years ago (when I was married to a very mean man), I was told by a college counselor that I should be a writer or maybe major in philosophy.
When I went home, I told the mean man about the advice I had been given.
He laughed at me and said, “WHAT? Writers starve to death and philosophers ride around on donkeys and get hit with palm branches. AND what makes you think anyone would ever want to read anything you write? What a joke! What a complete waste of time that would be.”
Here it is 22 years later (without him), and in 2011—I did finally get a degree in Philosophy ….and…..a wonderful person just nominated me for a “Versatile Blogger” award. You know what that means? He was totally and completely wrong.
People are actually reading what I write. I am not a waste of time!
Thanks again! Listen to me smiling!

  2. That is quite a story in itself! We are what we believe and he did nothing to deter what you believed in yourself! And that’s a beautiful thing dear. Keep the faith, keep writing and always be a philosopher. Be undaunted by anyone…especially yourself 🙂

  3. Congratulations on the award! You deserve it: your content and images are top-notch!

I enjoyed your seven interesting facts! I chuckled at #5 (that’s showing my age) and as someone thrice married, I appreciate #6.

Thank you so much for including me with those you’ve nominated! I’ll act on the nomination when time permits.

Again, you do a great job with your blog – be proud!

  4. Ah, so you are thrice married too?? Wow…cool. So you get where I’m coming from then 🙂 Funny, but I met a wonderful woman this summer swimming. She was very interesting and a prof for cinema (Video stuff), but she also was very into astrology. Went to England to study even. So she did my chart and it said all over it: WRITE. So that’s one big reason I started my blog. I did some writing years ago…but this was incentive to give it a go again. Everyone’s words of encouragement are so amazing!

  5. My first marriage lasted a painful/insane 13 months; the second, a drunken/drugged-out/no-holds-barred 3 years; my third/current/final a happy 25 years!!!

Glad you take the time out of your day to write, and I hope you get as much out of it as your readers do!

  6. I finally had the time to post the award that you gave to me in mid-December (it’s been a hectic month).
Admittedly, I am a wee bit “directionally challenged” so I didn’t follow all of the directions exactly. 😉 Again, thank you so much for nominating me.
